The
people who are expert in doing certain task efficiently and contribute to the
development of a country are called the skilled human resources. Doctor,
Engineer, Pilot, Mechanic, etc are some of the examples of skilled human
resources. It is difficult to carry out any development work in the absence of
skilled human power. For this, a country requires such skilled human power that
can fulfill the present needs of the country. For examples, to provides good
health facilities, a country needs doctors, nurses, village and community
health workers, administrators, and technicians who are skilled in their jobs.
Skilled human resources is essential for the development of every field. There
are mainly three types of human power :
- Unskilled,
- Semi – skilled, and
- Skilled.

than towns and cities, therefore development work should start from a village
but it’s not effective. Most of the people living in villages are farmers.
Therefore, government is making efforts to promote development work mostly in
the rural areas. The development work conducted at local level in rural areas
are agro-based industries, small or medium scale industry associated with
agriculture, and some other activities which create an opportunity of self employment.

and good ways to keep the records of income and expenditure. It also requires
training on more productive agricultural activities, silk production, bee

hotel management, guide, etc can be conducted in rural areas. If the people
living in rural areas get better training, they will be skilled and can earn
more for their living. Besides, skilled human power is a must in various
professional sectors like health, administration, police, education,
transportation and communication.
term needs : The short term needs of the government are not enough to develop
the country. The government should frame a long term policy emphasizing on
science and technology, industries and modern technologies such as computers.
The government should create such skilled human power that can fulfill the
required job opportunities and needs of the country. To prepare such type of
skilled human power, it requires a long period of time. Hence, the government
needs a proper planning for the long run.

short term need of the country are called short term human resources. Training
on bee keeping, silk production, cook, etc, are the some examples of short term
human resources. - It can be prepared in short period of time.
- It takes less investment to prepare short term human
resources. - It is prepared to fulfill the immediate need of the
country. - The human resources which are prepared to fulfill the
long term need of the country are called long term human resources. Doctor,
engineer, etc are the eamples of long term human resource. - It takes long period to prepare long term human
resource. - More investment is required to prepare long term human
resource. - It is prepared to fulfill the need of the country for
a long period of time.

country needs sustainable development and sustainable human power. That is why
every country aims to provide education to create skilled human power with job opportunities.
This will provide efficient human power in a sustainable way and the process of
the development will be sustainable. The country should be able to produce,
enough, efficient and trained human power every as per the required number in
every sector. Therefore, skilled and sustainable human power is very important
for the development of a country.
situation :
present many educational institutions of Nepal are producing skilled human
power. Technical education and vocational training institutions are also
producing basic or medium level technical human power. These institutions
produce human power to fulfill the demands of the markets and needs of a
country. Furthermore, such human power should not be job oriented. They should
be energetic, self dependent, self esteemed, and trained who can develop the
country. It is a pitiful situation that our skilled human resources are leaving
for foreign employment continuously. Now the times has come that our government
should create job opportunities or make provisions of self dependency so that
our skilled human power will remain in our country. This way, we can develop
our country. The future of our country is in the hands of our youths. They are
the mot reliable human resources for the development of our country. They must
unite together for the creation of new Nepal. It is the duty and responsibility
of every Nepalese to uplift our motherland and make it able to compete with
others.
